Background

I study auditory cognition, learning and plasticity across the lifespan.

Research in my lab focuses on:

1) The role of perceptual learning in speech recognition under adverse listening conditions (e.g., rapid or noisy speech or individuals with hearing loss).

2) Preceptual learning in typical and atypical langauge development.

3) The implications of age-related changes in hearing and learning to hearing rehabilitation.

4) Auditory learning in participants with language and hearing impairments and following hearing rehabilitation.

Research

I direct the Auditory Cognition Lab in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Our current research projects focus on:

Age, hearing and reapid learning in the recognition of perceptually-difficult speech (with Dr. Limor Lavie)

Perceptual context, language and literacy (With Prof. Rachel Yifat and Dr. Ravit Cohen-Mimran)

Perceptual learning and speech perception in adult cochlear implant users (With PhD student Ranin Khayr and Dr. Talma Shpak, Bnai Zion Medical Center)

Speech recognition, learning and rehabilitation in adult cochlear implant users (With Dr. Naama Tsach and Dr. Rama Novogrodsky)

Plasticity in the auditory system in olde age following rehabilitation with hearing aids (With PhD student Liat Schechter and Dr. Limor Lavie)

Individual differences in speech perception in older adults: Insights from eye-tracking (With PhD student Gal Nitzan and Prof. Boaz Ben-David, Reichman University)
