Biographical Note

Hanan AboJabel has recently started her post-doctoral fellowship in the department of Medical Ethics and History of Medicine, University Medical Gottingen, Germany. Her research is titled: “Moral and social attitudes of experts and family caregivers of people with dementia towards co-intelligent monitoring and assistive systems in dementia care (CIMADeC): A cross-cultural study”. The research is conducted in close cooperation with new project titled, “Ethical and social issues of co-intelligent sensory dementia Care (EIDEC)” conducted by Prof. Schicktanz and an interdisciplinary group. Hanan will be bring to the project a new, innovative, and cross-cultural perspective by comparing the attitudes of German and Israeli experts and family caregiver of people with dementia toward CIMADeC. She was a recipient of the Minerva Stiftung Post-Doctoral Fellowship for her research.

Hanan received her B.A. in Sociology and Education in 2009 and her M.A. in Gerontology in 2014 from the University of Haifa, Israel. From 2015- 2019 she wrote her PhD at the department of Community Mental Health, in the same university. Her doctoral thesis (Advisor: Prof. Perla Werner) focused on understanding the relationship between caregiving burden and family stigma among primary caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the Arab community in Israel.

• Psycho-social aspects in dementia.
• Mental illnesses and aging.
• Mental health and ethnicity.
